OPENING TO THE NIGHT RELIGION OF PRIMITIVES

June 27, 2015 / Glen Reynolds

What I call “night religion” is the magical form of religion, the meaning and purpose of which is intercourse with the dark powers, devils, witches, magicians, and spirits. Just as the childish fairytale is a phylogenetic repetition of the ancient night religion, so the childish fear of the dark is a re-enactment of primitive psychology
