Chapter 354 - 356: In the Grave
Chapter 354 - 356: In the Grave
Ming Yue’s heart was pounding. She wanted to cry out, to beg Su Nian to hurry and find a way to help her.
Her boyfriend suddenly broke into a wide grin.
"Okay, okay, I was just messing with you! Did I scare you?"
"I know the conditions here aren’t great, and it’s a bit much for you. It’s okay, I’ll change the sheets for you in a bit. You can sleep then, okay?"
"Okay, okay!"
Ming Yue nodded repeatedly.
The Master had said her future mother-in-law was a corpse, but she hadn’t said anything about her boyfriend.
He was as thoughtful as ever, and Ming Yue felt a complex swirl of sweetness and unease.
"I’ll wait for you in the room, then."
Her voice was quiet. She really didn’t dare go outside.
The moment her boyfriend left, she immediately grabbed her Bluetooth earbuds and put them on.
[I don’t know, her boyfriend seems pretty normal to me?]
[Maybe her boyfriend doesn’t actually know his mom is dead?]
[What kind of ’devoted son’ is he? He doesn’t even know his own mom is dead, and he’s bringing his girlfriend to visit her? No matter how you spin it, that just doesn’t add up, right?]
Ming Yue was trembling. "Master, what on earth is going on? I’m so scared. Something feels really wrong. And... and look at this bed!"
Ming Yue panned her phone’s camera.
She pointed it toward the bed, drawing a collective gasp from the viewers.
[What? That’s a bed!]
[Why does it look like a coffin?!]
[That *is* a coffin, isn’t it? It’s just not as deep! And it doesn’t have a lid!]
[Holy shit, but didn’t her boyfriend just say that was a bed and that she should go lie in it?]
[Oh my god! The more you think about it, the more terrifying it is. Her boyfriend is definitely not a good guy!]
Seeing the viewers’ comments, the color drained from Ming Yue’s face.
’A coffin!?’
But from her perspective, it was clearly just a bed that was a little narrow and a little too long!
Ming Yue was on the verge of tears from fright, her eyes welling up as panic set in.
"You guys, stop scaring me... It’s a bed. It’s just a little narrow, that’s all."
Just then, Su Nian spoke up.
"What about the house? Do you feel like there’s anything wrong with it?"
’The house?’
Ming Yue was confused.
She didn’t know why Su Nian was suddenly asking about it. After a two-second pause, she nodded.
"Isn’t it just an earthen house?"
Su Nian’s eyes slowly swept across the so-called earthen house on the screen, and then she shook her head.
"It’s actually a tomb."
Su Nian’s statement was a bombshell. With that one sentence, a flood of exclamation points scrolled across the screen.
Apparently, Ming Yue wasn’t the only one in disbelief.
[Wait, what? It’s a tomb?]
[But what kind of tomb has a TV in it?]
[That actually makes sense, though. Doesn’t this room seem like the ceiling is lower than the other one?]
[The ceiling in the room with the TV was higher. This one seems lower.]
[And didn’t the Master say the TV was a paper offering that was burned for them? Oh my god!!]
[Also, Ming Yue just said all the houses she saw were earthen houses. Don’t tell me those are actually all individual tombs!!!]
[Holy shit, she’s visiting her future mother-in-law inside a tomb??]
Many of the viewers were left stunned by Su Nian’s sudden declaration.
Ming Yue was, too. She hadn’t considered it before, but now that Su Nian had brought it up, her expression grew increasingly rigid.
Now that she thought about it, that seemed right. When she first arrived, she did see several neighbors.
Their expressions had been strange, but she hadn’t thought much of it at the time—not until Su Nian’s reminder.
