Leveling Up by Defiling Milfs

Chapter 145: Ch:145 Investigation

Chapter 145: Ch:145 Investigation

Hours later, the haze of sex had finally settled.

Daniel lay sprawled across his bed with a satisfied smile, playing on his lips as he finished the last bites of his chicken dinner.

His balls were utterly drained from the intense threesome.

The sheets beneath him had been changed to fresh white ones, while the old ones had been handed to Esmeralda for washing.

Not only that, he had casually instructed her to clean his entire room while he was out the next day. She had agreed without hesitation. To her, it was hardly a burden at all.

"Hm... let’s check my stats," he whispered under his breath before pulling out his grimbook.

"Oh wow, Lady Esma is climbing up rapidly," Daniel murmured, his tone laced with genuine surprise.

...

The next early morning, Daniel made his way toward the Church in his usual attire: a simple brown tunic, black cotton pants, and a well-worn leather satchel slung over his shoulder.

When he reached the destination, he found the gates closed once again. Fortunately, a small handful of people were already waiting there with him.

Daniel scanned the small crowd gathered outside the church gates and quickly spotted an old man already deep in conversation with another.

Calmly, he approached and positioned himself beside them, listening in silence.

"...but did they find out who did it?" the first old man asked, his voice low and concerned.

The second shook his head slowly. "I guess they haven’t yet. Maybe tomorrow it will open... I don’t know."

As he listened to their conversation, the two old men suddenly stopped speaking mid-sentence and stared intently at the closed church gate.

Curiosity rose inside Daniel like a wildfire. Then, instead of remaining silent, he stepped forward.

"Sir, why is the church closed?" he asked, his tone polite and respectful.

The two elderly men turned their faces toward him, their expressions neutral as they regarded the young stranger.

One of the old men stared at him with a flat, unreadable expression, who wore a cream-coloured tunic. The other, dressed in a dark green tunic, offered a warm grandfatherly smile before replying.

"A priest was killed two days ago," he explained. "An investigation is being held because of it. That’s why the church is closed, young man."

"Wait... what? When?" Daniel said, his eyes widening in shock.

"Rumours say it was an assassination, but there is no solid proof," the old man said with a cautious expression.

One by one, strangers passed by the closed church gates, their faces etched with disappointment after arriving in hopes of praying or attending. With no other choice left — Daniel turned away, deciding it would be better to head off for training and hone his skills.

Just then, the sound of hooves broke the quiet morning air.

A group of four riders emerged, riding three black horses and one pure white steed. They wore dark green robes trimmed with elegant golden lines along the sleeves, and a black cloth covering their faces and concealing their identities.

"Here comes the royal investigator," the old man murmured, standing beside Daniel.

Daniel immediately activated his {Status} ability, directing it toward one of the riders.

Nothing appeared.

No window, no information, only empty air beside the cloaked figure.

"Folks, can you please move aside? Thank you," the figure said in a deep voice, dismounting gracefully from his white horse.

The people obeyed without hesitation, stepping aside to open a clear path.

A royal investigator was someone who wielded direct authority from the Eagle Kingdom. Their duty was to unravel complex mysteries, and the position was granted to only one individual at a time.

Daniel watched closely as one of the green-robed figures dismounted and approached the gate, pulling out a key. The church was being opened for the investigation, not for any prayer or service.

As more people gathered around, their anxious chitchat grew louder and more tense. The figure standing beside the white horse stepped forward, instantly drawing the attention of every townsfolk present.

"Excuse me, everyone. I know many of you are seeking answers, but—" the figure said, reaching up to remove the black cloth covering his face, "the investigation is still ongoing, and the church will remain closed for another day."

The crowd fell silent for a brief moment before erupting into murmurs once again. Daniel’s eyes suddenly widened as he recognized the familiar face.

Daniel approached calmly through the crowd.

"Zane, I didn’t expect you’d be here this early," he said in a casual tone.

He paused, narrowing his eyes as he glanced at Daniel. He calmly pulled the black cloth back over his face before replying, "Some things are meant to be kept secret, you know."

Daniel chuckled softly. "Well, since you’re here, you carry on with the investigation. I’m getting late for work."

But as Daniel turned to leave, he called out again. "Wait, I’ve been having a hard time remembering names lately. What was your name again?"

"Seriously? It’s Da..." Daniel stammered for a split second, then casually continued, "...enis. Denis."

"Okay, I’ll remember that, Denis."

With that, Daniel turned and left the church area, heading toward the Arcane Gate. He knew his comrades had already left for the training grounds.

...

*Thud-Thud-Thud*

Daniel rushed toward the training grounds and spotted his comrades already on their warm-up run. Without wasting a second, he casually dropped his leather satchel to the side and slipped smoothly into the group, matching their rhythm.

Marco glanced over, clearly aware that Daniel had arrived late, but he remained calm and said nothing.

"Daniel, what did the master say to you yesterday?" Moled asked, jogging beside him as he recalled yesterday’s events.

"Umm... nothing interesting, Molex," Daniel replied with a neutral expression. "He simply said I need more practice with my forms."

Everyone around them overheard the brief exchange, but paid it no mind. They quickly returned to their own conversations, chatting among themselves as the group continued running.

After the warm-up ended, the group gathered before Marco, who stood straight at the center of the field.

"Students, I can see that all of you have already mastered the second form," Marco said in a authoritative tone. "With that, we will now move on to the third form."

He stepped forward and demonstrated without further delay.

*ZZzz ZzZz*

Extending his right hand, Marco began channeling his lightning powers, shaping it into a crackling sphere of raw energy that hummed dangerously in his palm.

"As you can see, this form is almost identical to the first one," Marco continued, his voice steady and clear. "The difference is that, this time you must hold it for as long as possible. Push yourselves until you can no longer maintain it. Is that clear?"

Some of the students nodded, while others replied in unison.

"Yes, Master!"

"In the end, it should look something like... this," Marco said.

With a sharp, fluid motion, Marco hurled the crackling energy ball far across the training ground.

It streaked through the air like a bolt of lightning before slamming into the dirt with a thunderous boom.

A cone-shaped shockwave erupted outward from the point of impact, kicking up dust and sending small sparks dancing across the ground.

"Woah..." Bernard breathed, his eyes wide with awe.

Marco’s gaze shifted to Daniel. He knew Daniel had already learned the technique, but it was clear he still hadn’t mastered it yet.

"Now, everyone take your positions and spread out," Marco commanded. "Follow the instructions I told you. Hold it till you can’t, I repeat, hold it till you can’t."

Daniel walked to the side, stood straight, took a deep breath, and began channeling.

*Zzzz Bzzap! Boom*

With one powerful surge, he unleashed the third form straight into the ground. The violent crackle and explosion instantly drew unwanted attention from everyone in the training area.

"Isn’t that the third form?" Zushio asked, standing near Daniel.

Daniel turned toward him and replied casually, "Maybe."

’What should I do with him? Should I seperately teach him the fourth form?’ Marco muttered under his breath.

Daniel showed clear signs that unleashing the third form came to him like second nature.

Feeling confident in his form, Daniel began unleashing one lightning bolt after another in quick succession. Zushio watched him carefully, studying every movement with focused eyes.

*Bzzz-BOOM*
