Infinite Paths: The Raging Phoenix

Chapter 593 Isolation

Chapter 593 Isolation

Rain created other mirrors inside the dungeon until it reached the colder floors. The magic couldn't fight the sunlight conveyed in a single place, so the ice began to melt as the temperatures improved and the defenses of the monsters decreased too.

Rain also even able to burn alive frozen bats and frozen rats when he controlled the mirrors, so he gained experience without wasting a single point of mana. Thanks to that, a bunch of the warriors seemed to admire Rain thanks to his ingenuity, others looked perplexed since they were disappointed.

"Don't give me that look, I am not a muscle head that will solve every single problem with brute strength," Rain thought. "Respect my big brain prowess too. I am more than just a pretty face.

The only problem was that such a thing only worked during the day, but when night came, a good chunk of the dungeon had melted, so it used more energy to cool down. However, such effects were only useful until the fourth floor. On the fifth floor, the cold was more powerful.

"You win some and you lose some," Rain said and then shrugged.

"What about the other dungeons?" Terra asked.

"Hey, I can't solve everyone's problems," Rain said.

"The fire dungeons should be fine with some of my people there, the problem is the earth dungeon," Seara said.

From what Rain heard, Liss and Asche were having a hard time there since they were mainly ranged fighters and they needed good visibility to show their best skills. Liss was probably the best wind magic user that Rain knew, but she was only a single person.

This isolation had created many mysteries around the demi-humans. No one truly knew how they lived, what their culture was like, or what their goals and aspirations could be. They had become an enigma, a civilization untouched by the outside world.

The decision to isolate themselves had effectively made them an unknown entity, leaving everyone to wonder about the unique society that thrived on their distant island. Rain realized that unlocking the secrets of the demi-humans would be a challenging task, as it appeared they had chosen to remain hidden from the rest of the world for reasons known only to them.

Stay tuned with empire

"Ugh, this didn't help at all..." Seara said while reading the papers that they received. "While they do have the qualities of several species, and sometimes they can be born with unusual powers, I still find to believe that one of them would suddenly appear and become an enemy out of us for no apparent reason.

Rain couldn't help but agree... Considering the world's long history, it's clear that the demi-humans have always been peaceful and never tried to fight with those who might have seen them as lesser beings. They were generally known to be nice and friendly.

So, it was quite confusing for Rain when one of them suddenly appeared and caused trouble out of the blue, especially after they had been left alone for thousands of years.

It made Rain wonder: Why would one of them act this way now? Perhaps something had changed within their society, or there might be some internal conflicts they didn't know about. It's also possible that this particular demi-human doesn't represent the views of the entire group and has personal reasons for their actions.

On the other hand, it could be that they weren't really left alone all this time. There might be things happening behind the scenes that they were unaware of, which could have triggered this unusual behavior from a demi-human.

The situation is full of mysteries, and Rain realizes that to understand it better, we need to learn more about the demi-humans history and what led to this unexpected situation.
