Chapter 427 – Playing a VR For Too Long Is Bad
Chapter 427 – Playing a VR For Too Long Is Bad
Taking Lily's hands, Max whispered in a way the audience wouldn't hear him.
"Just focus on singing and don't tire yourself. Although this is VR World, your mind can still be affected. Leave the choreography to me."
"Un... I will leave it to you."
Noticing the strain in her brain, Lily agreed to his request. Since the last song, she had felt a slight headache from pushing herself. It took more stamina and mental capacity than she thought.
As Max pulled her onto the invisible platform, Lily's clothes changed from the silver dress into a black bodysuit with a cropped jacket and shorts on top, like that of a thief.
Take my hand, let's flee this place,
Together we'll run, in love's warm embrace.
Max danced in the air with Lily, holding her close to him. He only concentrated to his part of the work and then when his part arrived...
Dance and laugh, despite the world's strife,
In your arms, I find new life.
Love's gentle touch, something we seek,
Let me help you free.
He somehow managed to sing flawlessly. Well, not flawlessly, but better than usual or even the Music Video.
Meanwhile, Lily didn't move much. She let her body be pulled by Max. Focusing on singing was all she did.
However, the audience was captivated. It looked like a real scene of kidnapping. The stage changed many times, making it look as if they were moving from one place to another. The kidnapper showed the lonely and pitiful White Lily the world.
As the last part came, Lily took off Max's hood. The face hidden by the shadow, the sharp and wild look of the thief, could be seen clearly. Everyone shrieked, waving their light sticks that had turned blue to match the atmosphere.
The thief came down as the stage turned into something that looked like a mountain filled with flowers. These flowers were white lilies, and they hadn't bloomed yet.
A full moon was coming closer from the sky, illuminating the venue. Its color changed from the usual yellow to something closer to blue. As the moon was at the closest proximity, the lilies bloomed.
No longer bound to earthly fears,
With you, my love, I'll dry my tears.
But Max couldn't care less. He looked at where Lily's capsule was and found Doctor Ardi was already crouching in front of it, checking her condition.
A glimpse of her body showed how pale her skin was. She looked at Max, who had a worried face and tried to smile.
"Don't put on that face, Max. I was just... tired."
Max couldn't say anything. He just nodded and let the doctor check her condition. Freaking out or panicking would only make things worse, he learned that the hard way.
After a while, Doctor Ardi stood up. He whispered something to the nurse beside him and she helped Lily to move to the wheelchair they prepared.
"Please be careful. I will help you to the room for now."
"Nurse, please let me–"
"Breeze, is it? Let my nurse help her, she's a professional." Doctor Ardi interrupted as Max tried to help. "Meanwhile, why don't we check your condition? Your vital signs spiked a little bit at the end of the concert."
"No, I am fine. So–"
"Please, I insist." Doctor Ardi put his hand on his shoulder, preventing him from saying anything more.
Lily, who already sat in the wheelchair, looked at Max.
"I'll be fine. Go check yourself first, Max."
That stopped him. Max glanced at Lily for the last time and nodded. He waved at her before she was taken by the nurse.
And then, his expression turned serious as he looked at the doctor in front of him.
"So, doctor. What do you want to say about her condition? I believe that my condition is good, I know myself the best. The reason you stopped... It's because she shouldn't hear it for her recovery, right?"
Hearing that, Doctor Ardi smiled.
"Indeed." He smiled, "Well, I should say that we're fortunate you and her brother moves pretty fast and forced her to log out. There is no imminent danger, but..."
"But?"
A word 'but' from a doctor's mouth was never a good thing.
"Her time in the VR world might need to be limited from now on." He said, turning serious, "Or she will experience a sudden spike in vital signs just like earlier."
