The hijab issue is one for Nargess in The Monas Novels, choosing to wear it as an expression of freedom of choice and religious conviction. The more I read this article, the more I wondered what the author was really trying to say? Sexual harassment is wrong, pure and simple. Isn’t the point that comes through in this article, that some men will abuse women because they are women, whatever they wear? It’s not about the hijab, it’s about protecting all woman from abuse and sexual harassment, and allowing them to express themselves as a matter of choice, whilst respecting certain religious and cultural boundaries of course. This article is about how some women do not receive that respect. It is about mutual respect and enforcement of the rights of women.
