Californian crisis brings water crisis to the front of US politics. Whilst economists and agriculture experts say that the cuts are expected to have little immediate impact on food prices, (with the growing of some crops to shift to regions with more  water in the short-term), the longer term impact could be the opposite. With climate change resulting in flood and drought over the world, this is a microcosm of the international outlook unless action is taken. Major international conferences take place later this year – this is a crucial period lying ahead for all those concerned about our planet.
